Fiberglass reinforced silicone sheeting is typically used for gaskets or seals requiring a resilient, non porous sheet material suitable for operating temperatures from -100 to 500°F but is not limited to such applications. The material is resistant to deterioration by weathering and engine oil and remains flexible over the temperature range noted. Fiberglass reinforced silicone sheet is available in many different thicknesses. Generally the DSP1564 Grade is used in thicknesses greater than 1/32" thick and the DSP7628 is used in thicknesses 1/32" thick or less. The fiberglass is centered between the 2 layers of silicone that gives the material dimensional stability and higher tensile strength.
The given values are typical properties and are provided for information only. They should not be used to set specification requirements. It is up to the end user to determine whether the material is suitable for the intended application.
